October is National Bullying Awareness and Prevention Month—a time to reaffirm our collective responsibility to ensure every student feels safe, valued, and supported at school. At Alignment Nashville, we believe that academic success and emotional well-being go hand in hand. Our Collaborative Initiatives—such as the Positive Schools Conference, Youth Health Collaborative, and Out of School Time Collaborative—bring together educators, mental health professionals, community organizations, and families to create environments where students can thrive without fear of bullying or exclusion.
Through these collaborations, Alignment Nashville helps schools strengthen mental health supports, student voice, and positive behavior frameworks. Together, these strategies build strong school communities grounded in respect, empathy, and belonging—key elements in preventing bullying before it starts.
“Every child deserves a safe, happy place to learn and grow,” said Melissa Jaggers, President & CEO of Alignment Nashville. “When students feel connected, supported, and seen, they’re not only less likely to experience bullying—they’re also more likely to reach their full potential. Our work is about creating that sense of belonging across every classroom and the community.”
Throughout the year, Alignment Nashville and its partners continue to advance initiatives that promote kindness, inclusivity, and emotional safety for all students. By aligning resources and fostering collaboration, we’re helping to build schools where every student feels like they belong—today and every day.
