Academies of Nashville Celebrates Excellence at 2026 Awards Ceremony

Academies of Nashville

Educators, students, business partners, and community leaders gathered on May 4, 2026 to celebrate the 2026 Academies of Nashville Awards, recognizing the outstanding individuals and partnerships helping students across Metro Nashville Public Schools prepare for college, career, and life.

Hosted by Deloitte and presented by Alignment Nashville and Metro Nashville Public Schools, the annual ceremony highlighted the innovation, collaboration, and student-centered learning that define the Academies of Nashville model.

Since launching in 2006, the Academies of Nashville have grown into a nationally recognized approach to career-connected learning. Through smaller learning communities organized around career pathways, students gain access to hands-on experiences, industry partnerships, and opportunities that connect classroom learning to their future goals.

Alignment Nashville serves as a backbone partner to the Academies of Nashville initiative, helping align community resources, facilitate partnerships, and support strategic collaboration across sectors. Through the Nashville Hub, Alignment Nashville also shares the Academies of Nashville model with educators and leaders from across the country through study visits, professional learning experiences, and national partnerships focused on career-connected learning.

“This evening is a celebration of what is possible when schools, business partners, and community leaders work together in support of students,” said Melissa Jaggers, President & CEO of Alignment Nashville. “The Academies of Nashville continue to demonstrate the power of meaningful partnerships and innovative learning experiences that prepare young people for bright futures.”

“The Academies of Nashville continue to demonstrate what is possible when education and community work hand in hand,” said Dr. Adrienne Battle, Superintendent of  Nashville Public Schools. “Our students are gaining real-world experiences, building meaningful relationships, and preparing for successful futures because of the dedication of our educators, business partners, and community supporters. Tonight’s honorees reflect the innovation, excellence, and collaboration happening across Metro Nashville Public Schools every day.”

The evening also included recognition of the 2026 Academies of Nashville Students of the Year, Partnership Council Co-Chairs, and a special recognition of Skal International for establishing a new scholarship opportunity in partnership with Alignment Nashville for Academies of Nashville students.
