FAMILY UNIVERSITY

Family University, hosted by the MNPS Office of Family and Community Partnerships and Alignment Nashville, will provide year-round educational enrichment opportunities to equip, encourage, and empower MNPS families to be partners with MNPS in their child’s educational journey.

Family University will:

  • Foster trust between parents/families and schools
  • Provide culturally relevant services and resources
  • Offer opportunities to listen and learn from the experience and expertise of all
  • Create sustainable systems and structures for families and community partners to assess, evaluate, and guide the district and schools on authentic decision-making.

Family University will feature a university-style model; families will have the opportunity to choose a pathway of sequenced, paced course offerings. Individual community-based courses, provided by community partners on a range of topics, will also be available. To ensure accessibility, courses will be offered both in-person and online (asynchronously). At the end of each year, after completing course requirements, family members that complete a pathway will participate in a graduation ceremony and receive a Certificate of Completion and practical resources to ensure they continue to thrive and utilize tools for success.

We invite community partners to join us in this exciting initiative. Family University is seeking resources and services related to the following focus areas:
